Mission Statement

IES is a research and education center for electronic sensor systems focusing on quantities which have environmental impact. We invest in scientific fields ranging from the identification and combination of physical measurement principles up to autonomous sensor networks. Therefore, our research covers the design and multi-physical simulation of sensor systems, the development of robust embedded electronics, as well as specific signal processing topics. Another core area is the metrological characterization of sensor systems in dedicated laboratories. We enable a collaboration of students, leading industry innovators as well as university researchers at the forefront of innovation.
