Multi Collector - Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS)

This is a cooperation within NAWI Graz.

MC-ICP-MS is a double focussing magnetic sector instrument that allows the simultaneous measurement of several isotopes of an element at high precision. The instrument is equipped with sixteen Faraday detectors and up to five ion-counting electron multipliers.

Stable isotopes are measured like Mg (Zn and Si under development).

Radiogenic isotopes are measured like Sr, Nd, Pb and Hf.
