Laser Ablation - Quadrupole - Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS)

This is a cooperation within NAWI Graz.

Laser ablation (LA) is the process of particle removal by a focussed laser beam. Laser Ablation coupled with a Quadrupole - Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometer (LA-ICP-MS) combines the benefits of high precision elemental analysis and in-situ sampling.

Trace and rare earth elements are routinely analysed with detection limits around 0.05 to 0.1 mg/kg.
