Legal and ethical aspects of research data

This event will introduce and deal with legal aspects of digital objects necessitating data management planning. There are requirements of research results to meet privacy, confidentiality and cultural considerations. Next to a demonstration of the TU Graz DMP tool you will hear details about legal bases for digital objects created or managed during the research process featuring talks by several legal experts.

2023 netidee SCIENCE Grant for Jana Lasser
This year’s ‘netidee SCIENCE’ grant, Austria's most highly endowed and privately financed research prize for excellent online research, goes to Jana Lasser.

Hedy Lamarr Award 2023 goes to… Maria Eichlseder!
The city of Vienna honoured Maria Eichlseder for her work on secure and efficient cryptographic algorithms.

TU Graz honours outstanding knowledge transfer
Special commitment, excellent didactic concepts and a lot of motivation: this is what the award winners have in common, whose courses at TU Graz were honoured with the Award for Excellent Teaching 2022/23.
We are very proud that 2 of the excellent courses are taught at the CSBME faculty. Computer scientists Maria Eichlseder (lecture "Cryptography") and also Aleksandar Karakas and Alexander Steinmaurer (lecture "Object-Oriented Programming 1") were delighted to receive an award.

"Zoom Fatigue": Exhaustion caused by video conferencing proven on a neurophysiological level for the first time
A research team led by Gernot Müller-Putz and René Riedl from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria were able to prove that video conferences and online education formats lead to greater fatigue than face-to-face alternatives.

“Sustainability in Computer Science“ - The new public lecture series in Austria
Be part of the new public online lecture series on SUSTAINABILITY IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, starting this winter semester.
More information and access to the zoom link.
TU Graz students can register to get credits for LV 705.222 “Selected Topics of Science, Technology and Society (Sustainability in Computer Science)” via TUGonline.
Depending on your study program, the lecture series is a free elective or a “Wahlmodul (in CS, SEM and ICE)".

Joint courses with international universities - worldwide
The TU Graz offers some courses which are carried out in co-operation with international universities. Students at TU Graz can receive a funding for the part of the course which takes place at the international partner university.
Submission deadline for summer semester 2024 extended until 10 December

Scholarship David-Herzog-Fond
The aim of David-Herzog-Fond grants has always been and continues to be the promotion and support of intercultural understanding and learning - especially with regard to Jewish culture. The David-Herzog-Fond supports the work of scientists, students and artists through four program tracks and is supported by all Styrian universities since it was established in 2005.

The management board decides every six months on applications received (June and December).
