EU Horizon Project – SimInSitu

Nils Götzen, Senior FEA Consultant & Life-Science Expert, talks about in-silico development- and clinical-trial-platform for testing in-situ tissue engineered heart valves. SimInSitu is aiming to develop a sophisticated in-silico method to predict the short- and long-term behavior of in-situ tissue engineered heart valves by combing advanced tissue remodeling algorithms with a personalized virtual heart modelling approach.

Diary of a female Computer Scientist

Last week the project Diary of a female Computer Scientist (dt.: Tagebuch der Informatikerin) took place all over Austria, organized by VCLA (Vienna Center of Logic and Algorithms). In several secondary schools in Vienna and Styria, girls aged 11-14 talked to programmers, coders, computer scientists or hardware specialists about what connects them to computer science.

FEEDBACK ON EU REGULATION ON CYBERSECURITY OF EU INSTITUTIONS
The EU Commission recently published a proposal for a regulation establishing measures for a high common level of cybersecurity in the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies (EUIBA). You have the opportunity to provide your feedback until May 18. The feedback will be summarized by the EU Commission and submitted to the European Parliament and the Council.

FWF: ELISE RICHTER PROGRAMME AND ELISE RICHTER PEEK
The programme supports experienced female scientists with the aim to achieve the necessary qualification to apply for professorships within Austria or abroad. For arts-based female researchers there is the possibility of applying for the Elise Richter PEEK.

Doctoral Examinations

Info: Candidates can take the final examination (presentation and oral exam) online via video conference call (e.g. Webex) if all parties involved agree.
