Austrian Computer Science Day "Humans in the Digital Age"

The ACSD is an annual assembly that brings together computer scientists across Austria and beyond to improve visibility of the field and foster collaboration in research and teaching.

Alumnus Dr. Martin Weiglhofer is new technical managing director of Jungheinrich Systemlösungen

Jungheinrich Systemlösungen GmbH in Graz is one of the leading software houses in the warehouse management, material flow and control technology. Dr. Martin Weiglhofer has been with the company since 2010. He studied software engineering and management at our faculty. He started his career as Team Leader Product Development WMS and was most recently fully responsible for product development, process integration and lifecycle management of customer projects in the role of Head of Warehouse Management Systems. As Managing Director of Jungheinrich Systemlösungen, his responsibilities include development management for strategic projects within the Group. In addition, as a mentor of the Dr. Friedrich Jungheinrich Foundation, he supports outstanding students of the TU Graz who have received a scholarship from the foundation.

 

One award after the other for Gerhard Holzapfel

Our head of the Institute of #Biomechanics Gerhard Holzapfel is "Styrian of the Day" in the Kleine Zeitung. Holzapfel can be pleased about another award. After the William Prager Medal (we reported in January), he received the next international medal: the Koiter Medal, awarded for special achievements in research and science.

Wiener Rupert-Riedl-Preis 2021 (in German)

Funding is provided for interdisciplinary, theoretical as well as practice-related work from the humanities, social and economic sciences as well as natural and technical sciences. The work can refer to current phenomena as well as have a historical focus. The award is primarily aimed at young scientists in the respective disciplines. Deadline: 30.06.2021


EU: The PASIFIC Fellowship Programme

The Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) is pleased to announce the PASIFIC Fellowship Programme funded within the MSCA COFUND scheme. The PASIFIC programme offers attractive 2-year postdoctoral fellowships to excellent researchers of any nationality, working in any scientific discipline. Each PASIFIC fellow will be granted a monthly allowance of approx. €2,500 net and, if applicable, an additional family allowance. In addition, PASIFIC fellows will be provided with a research budget of up to € 93,000 per project. The PASIFIC candidates must comply with the MSCA mobility rule. Deadline: 30.06.2021

Doctoral Examinations

Info: Candidates can take the final examination (presentation and oral exam) online via video conference call (e.g. Webex) if all parties involved agree. The requirement of publicity can be ensured as follows: Candidates may distribute the meeting link; requests to participate in the video exam can also be sent by e-mail to the chairperson of the exam commission.
