Online Study Abroad Fair 2021 - March 17, 2021. 10:00-15:00

The annual Study Abroad Fair provides students with all information on european and worldwide mobility programmes and scholarships of TU Graz. In addition to the main presentation on the different mobility options offered by TU Graz, separate question and answer sessions will be held concerning all mobility programmes.

WomenUniverse is the forum for women in the alumni network of TU Graz, for graduates, students and all women interested in the connection between science and business, for inspiration and interaction, for sharing experiences, for telling their own story, for support in shaping their individual future.

New approach found for energy-efficient AI applications

Computer scientist Wolfgang Maass and his doctoral student Christoph Stöckl have found a new design method for artificial neural networks. These networks get by with extremely few signals. Similar to Morse code, they also give meaning to the pauses between the signals.

 

New online store for art and design

TU Graz is now offering art and design objects made by students in the "StudentsArtWebshop". The store is to be successively expanded; part of the proceeds will benefit the work with students.

 

Software development is much more than programming

Denis Helic explains to the newspaper Die Presse why Software development does not only include programming skills, but also requires management and team leadership skills. User experience is also becoming increasingly important.

AK STMK funding for digitalization
Each project has the opportunity to receive up to 200,000 euros in funding. An external advisory board evaluates the submitted projects. Projects can be submitted at any time. Two funding rounds are planned for 2021. The focus this time is on the area of continuing education. Deadline: March 31, 2021

FFG: BRIDGE - 33. Call
Fundamental projects from scientific research and from the exploiting industry are funded. The funding for science in cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises is up to a maximum of 80%. The program is open to all research topics. Deadline: March 31, 2021

FFG: Energy Research- 7th call for proposals
The aim is to expand technological competencies, pick up on new trends and strengthen Austria as a location for clean energy technologies. This call focuses on research and development of innovative materials, technologies, systems and concepts. Topics of the call are: Energy systems and grids; Industrial energy systems; Storage and conversion technologies; Digitalization as a cross-cutting technology. Deadline: April 15, 2021

Artificial Intelligence Dependability Assessment - Student Challenge
Siemens Mobility aim to attract AI-learning students to contribute their knowledge and ideas to improving safety decisions in Mobility! Students are encouraged to develop an AI model for a simple classification problem with demanding safety requirements. A total of 10,000 EUR in prize money awaits the best and most reliable AI models. Deadline: May 02, 2021

Doctoral Examinations

Info: Candidates can take the final examination (presentation and oral exam) online via video conference call (e.g. Webex) if all parties involved agree. The requirement of publicity can be ensured as follows: Candidates may distribute the meeting link; requests to participate in the video exam can also be sent by e-mail to the chairperson of the exam commission.
