NExT - Non-Exhaust Emission Topics

Wear particles from tires, brakes and road surfaces are currently responsible for the majority of traffic-related particulate matter and microplastics pollution. With stricter air quality limits coming into force across the EU in 2030, it will be practically impossible to comply with them without a reduction in wear emissions.

As part of the new lead project NExT – Non-Exhaust Emission Topics at Graz University of Technology, researchers within TU Graz will be developing the necessary foundations for the reliable assessment and effective reduction of wear emissions.
