Within the field of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) we develop new technologies to measure traffic flow and test new traffic control methods to keep traffic running.

Within traffic, noise is one of the most recorded negative environmental effects. For the exploration of noise our institute possesses a psycho-acoustic laboratory. Here parameters of psycho-acoustics can be recorded and quantified.

 

In order to allow people to participate within activities at different locations transport is needed. We are working to ensure accessibility and necessary scopes for the future using intelligent transport methods.

The ISV deals with different questions of transportation (individual and public transport). At the applied research the focus is on transport planning, transport engineering and traffic related environmental impact. The Institute is involved in national and European research project in these fields. Because Traffic is an interdisciplinary science, intense contacts with statisticians, informaticians, geographers and economists are cultivated.

In teaching, in addition to this, the basics of road design, road construction and road maintaining are imparted.
