Bike over Puntigam
The present project is based on the development potential of the youngest district of Graz. Puntigam is in the focus here in particular through the foreseeable increased need of living space. Due to its strategically favorable location, its green space reserves offer an optimal option for infrastructural expansion for public transport and in the context of this, the corresponding handling of the commuter flow from the south. In addition to strengthening the local transport hub by means of its own Park and Ride facility, another focus is set in the sense of soft traffic. A central connecting element is the Skywalk, designed exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists, which serves as a distributor for the entire area. The new district also features vertical elements, creating additional identification points and a point of contact for office and commercial use.
The city of short distances in the promising future calls for the combination of work, life and living with qualitative green spaces for recreation. These framework conditions are implemented by two generous parks in the respective planning areas on both sides of the main road. The targeted consideration of an area largely freed from motorized private transport enables an appreciation of the future living space and also has a positive effect on the existing environment.
