PHD Elective - Hazard Urbanism (Advanced)

Eva Schwab

The seminar "Hazard Urbanism Advanced" offers the opportunity for an in-depth engagement with the topic through a personal (Master’s or PhD) project. It is aimed at doctoral candidates and advanced Master’s students who are seeking an opportunity to discuss their thesis projects in a supportive environment, both with their peers and the course instructor. The participants’ contributions and discussions will support the development of their research theories, questions, hypotheses, and methods in relation to architecture, urban planning and design, as well as spatial planning.

The seminar is interactive and held in intensive blocks. Students are expected to prepare a 4–6-page text about their research and upload it to the course website at least 10 days in advance, allowing instructors and fellow students to prepare for the discussion. The seminar is developmental in nature and aims to help students achieve their self-defined goals through constructive feedback.
