Forms of cooperation

Final Theses

The supervision of theses is an important part of the Institute's work and combines the areas of teaching, research and services. In most cases, tasks from industry are worked on in close co-operation with the client. The thesis is designed as a project and therefore has defined checkpoints from the outset.

For companies, working together on a thesis offers the opportunity to solve upcoming problems in a thorough, well-founded manner and with relatively little effort. The company also gets to know the qualities of potential employees. You can find more information about final theses here. You can also find an overview of the theses we have supervised here.

Project Cooperation with Industry Partners

Tasks that go beyond the scope of individual Master's theses or cover more complex topics are dealt with by the Institute of Business Administration and Industrial Sociology, e.g. via project staff or in the form of collective projects (several related theses) in cooperation with companies.

Example: Project - Andritz Hydro GmbH
The project focussed on improving the company's technology release process. The Institute was responsible for project management as well as the planning, moderation and follow-up of coordination workshops. Operational project management on site was carried out by an Institute project employee.

Studies

In the ‘study’ form of co-operation, the client defines the objectives of the study and the Institute of Business Administration and Industrial Sociology carries out the study as the contractor with sole and main responsibility.

You can find previous studies here.

Company-Specific Training Programmes

Based on the courses and seminars, the Institute of Business Economics and Industrial Sociology offers various types of company-specific training courses.

  • Complete seminars such as Marketing Management (German/English), Controlling (German/English), Marketing and Sales Controlling (German), Rhetoric & Presentation (German/English) and Marketing Intelligence (German) can be booked
  • Individual seminars can be combined to design and organise new, cross-thematic seminars.
  • There is the option of basic training on various modules and tools of business administration. The modules can also be specifically customised, e.g. in the areas of bookkeeping and accounting, cost and profit accounting, investment and financing or business appraisal.

Training courses have already been organised with companies such as KWB Energiesysteme GmbH and Böhler Uddeholm.
