Welcome to our new students at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Economic Sciences

On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Faculty of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Economic Sciences was delighted to welcome new students at the start of the 2025/26 winter semester. In a relaxed and warm atmosphere, first-year students were able to familiarize themselves with everyday student life and get to know their teachers, staff, and fellow students.

The afternoon began with our course “Einführung in den Maschinenbau und Technologiebewertung” which emphasized the importance of mechanical engineering for the future and encouraged the new students to bring curiosity, initiative, and perseverance to their studies. This was followed by a brief presentation of the institutes accompanied by helpful tips about studying.

After the official part, the day ended with a relaxed get-together. Visiting the stations (Rail Lab, IFT Battery Laboratory, IMAT Welding Laboratory, LEAD Factory and the MINKT Laboratory) and enjoying a cool drink provided an opportunity to make initial contacts.

We would like to thank everyone involved for the organization and wish our new students a successful and inspiring start at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Economic Sciences.

Successful two-day curia workshop at Schloss Seggau

On 7 July 2025, the annual two-day curia workshop of our Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Economic Sciences took place at Schloss Seggau near Leibnitz.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming new colleagues to our team. The workshop not only provided an opportunity to work together on important topics, but was also a wonderful occasion to get to know each other personally in a relaxed atmosphere.

In addition to the exchange of ideas, the workshop also offered numerous opportunities for networking – whether in discussions, in small groups or during informal exchanges during breaks and dinner together.

We would like to thank all participants for two days full of dialogue, ideas and perspectives, and we look forward to next year's workshop!
