Working Group for Equal Opportunities

The Working Group for Equal Opportunities provides information and support for all students, employees and applicants at TU Graz. If you experience discrimination, you can contact members of the working group. You will be given personal, confidential advice - the advice can also be given anonymously.

Members of the working group are not bound by directives and are obliged to maintain professional confidentiality.

In case of discrimination due to a disability all members of TU Graz can contact the TU Graz Representative for People with Disabilities.

Here you will find information and options for action and support in the event of sexual harassment and sexualised violence in the study and work environment. The AkG also offers personal counselling for all staff and students.

Tasks of the Working Group for Equal Opportunities

Staff Recruitment Procedure

One of the main tasks of the Working Group is its involvement in the staff recruitment procedure, from job advertisement to hiring.

Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Harassment and Bullying

Sexual harassment, harassment, and bullying are an infringement upon personal rights. The working group provides confidential advice and support.

Advising and Supporting the University

The members of the Working Group advise and support the Rectorate, the Senate and other organisational units of the university on matters related to gender equality, as well as the advancement of women.

Further Tasks

  • Implementing measures to prevent discrimination
  • Gathering information on complaints and sending it to the Arbitration Board
  • Creating an annual activity report for the University Council and the Rectorate

Legal Basis

The Working Group for Equal Opportunities is a collegial body that operates in accordance with the University Act. The members fulfil their functions independently, not bound by directives, and are obliged to maintain professional confidentiality.
