The GreenChips-EDU partners gathered for their 4th Consortium Meeting on October 16–17, 2025, hosted by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) at the Campus Nord in Barcelona.
This meeting focused on three key questions shaping the project’s next phase:
The first day began with an inspiring campus tour, including visits to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, where part of the server infrastructure is located in a former church while the majority now operates from a modern facility, as well as visits to the Nanosat Lab and a cleanroom facility – the only one hosted by a university in Spain.
In the afternoon and the following morning, partners worked in focused breakout sessions to explore practical solutions to challenges such as module shareability, staff mobility, and the exchange of expertise across institutions. The collaborative discussions led to new ideas and concrete next steps, leaving the consortium aligned and motivated for the project’s upcoming third year.
The first day concluded with a networking dinner at the Barcelona Nautic Club, overlooking the harbour – a perfect setting for continued discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. The meeting wrapped up the following day with a joint lunch, rounding off two productive and collegial days in Barcelona.
A big thank you to UPC for the organisation and hospitality!
