TU Darmstadt visits FSI
On 20 April 2015, a delegation of TU Darmstadt vistited FSI: President Hans Jürgen Prömel and on behalf of the International Relations Office, Regina Sonntag-Krupp and Vroni Thiele were welcomed by Peter Fischer from FTG and Alexander Pointner from PSM. Our guests were guided through the T&F lab, the FTG lab, and the fab lab.

Member of Styrian Provincial Government visiting FSI
On 5 November 2014, Christopher Drexler, member of the Styrian parliament in charge of science and research and Sonja Jöbstl-Findeis, Styrian Provincial Government - Science and Research, visited our labs. After a warm welcome by Rector Kainz and Vice Rector Bischof, FSI Speaker Ralf Kolleck gave a short overview on FSI. Afterwards the heads of the FSI institutes guided our guests through their labs: The T&F lab, the FTG lab, and the fab lab of PSM. Afterwards they were welcomed by the VSI, which runs an interesting lab, too.

First FSI Annual Project Meeting (APM)
On 28 October 2014, the FSI institutes presented their basic research and add-on projects to their MAGNA partners and discussed possible future research co-operations. Around 60 participants attended this kick-off: On behalf of TU Graz, Vice Rector Finances Andrea Hoffmann and Vice Rector Research Horst Bischof, Dean Christof Sommitsch, FSI Professors Ralf Kolleck, Peter Fischer, Christian Ramsauer joined the APM. MAGNA was represented by Dave Pascoe, Magna International , Gabriele Ferrufino Vidal, MAGNA Education, Gabriel Cordoba, Cosma, and by delegations of MAGNA Powertrain (Speiser, Schmidhofer, Prix, Bikeev, Monsberger, Gratzer), MAGNA-SMTP-HUB (Juricek, Zitz, Krammer, Mayr). Canadian participants Soeren Striepe, Magna International, and Aldo van Gelder, Stronach Center for Innovation, joined the meeting via web-ex. FSI group leaders and aspiring young researchers did presentations on their research highlights of 2014. the presentations were followed by an impressing poster session. We let this intense afternoon draw to an end at a delicious Styrian Buffet.
