Stefan Devoldere is an engineer-architect and urban planner. He writes about architecture and urbanism on a regular basis in Belgian and international publications. He participated in the Belgian contribution to the
International Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
He was curator of several international exhibitions on architecture, such as „Laurent Ney. Shaping Forces“ and „Robbrecht & Daem. Pacing through Architecture“. From 2004 till 2010 he was the editor of the Belgian architectural review A+. From 2011 till 2016 he safeguarded and stimulated the quality of the built environment in Flanders as deputy and acting Vlaams Bouwmeester (State Architect). Currently he is presiding the Stadsatelier Oostende, an expert platform that develops a framework for innovative housing projects and a long-term vision for city development in Ostend.
