Abstract

This PhD research focuses on developing a Positive Energy District (PED) at the "Alte Technik" Campus at TU Graz, integrating it with surrounding residential buildings to enhance energy management and renewable energy production. The goal is to leverage the diverse building typologies and their varying energy demands throughout the day to optimize energy efficiency and generation. By incorporating energy storage solutions and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, the project aims to create a sustainable energy ecosystem that produces more energy than it consumes. This holistic approach to urban planning and energy use not only targets the reduction of carbon footprints but also supports the transition towards a more resilient and renewable energy-driven urban environment.
