The Institute of Electron Microscopy and Nanoanalysis (FELMI) was founded to forge closer links between basic research and practical problem solving. Since its establishement, the institute has been addressing challenges in the field of advanced microscopy and has been focusing on high resolution materials characterisation. FELMI plays a prominent role supporting interdisciplinary and interfaculty research at TU Graz and offers training for bachelor, master, and PhD programmes.
FELMI works in close cooperation with the Graz Centre for Electron Microscopy (ZFE) that provides collaborating partners and customers access to the latest technologies for advanced materials characterisation, quality control and failure analysis. As a member of the Austrian Cooperative Research, ZFE works mainly with small and medium-sized enterprises. ZFE is operated by the non-profit Association for the Development of Electron Microscopy and Fine Structure Research.
