This year, 5 PhD candidates successfully defended their theses.

Their works treated very different topics of chemical engineering and show the variety of research topics of CEET:

• Sascha Kleiber (working group of Susanne Lux/ Matthäus Siebenhofer): Direct Reduction of Mineral Iron Carbonate with Hydrogen Combined with Methane and Methanol Synthesis
• Silvia Maitz (working group of Marlene Kienberger): Material Utilization of Kraft Black Liquor: Pre-Treatment and Fractionation Strategies
• Michaela Roschger (working group of Viktor Hacker): Development and optimization of alkaline direct ethanol fuel cell components on single cell level
• Georg Rudelstorfer (working group of Susanne Lux/ Matthäus Siebenhofer): Multiphase operations in the Taylor-Couette Disc Contactor
• Sigrid Wolf (working group of Viktor Hacker): Graphene derivative supported catalysts of alkaline direct ethanol fuel cells
