The 3rd Symposium on Insights into Gas Diffusion Electrodes took place in Berlin from 2nd to 4th September.
The symposium was hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems at Harnack House. With the theme "From Fundamentals to Industrial Applications & Beyond the OER", foci were put not only on fuel cell and water electrolysis R&D but also on CO2 reduction and unusual anode reactions (e.g., ammonia as fuel). In total 99 international participants gave insights into current research related to gas diffusion electrode systems. CEET was represented by two talks:
- Mario Kircher - Bridging GDE Half-Cell and MEA Testing for Improved Electrode Characterization (price received for best oral PhD presentation!)
- Michaela Roschger - Electrode Design in Alkaline Ethanol Fuel Cells: Insights from Half-Cell GDE Studies
