STS Conference Graz 2021 - Critical lssues In Science, Technology and Society Studies

The 19th Annual STS Conference Graz 2021 is the joint Annual Conference of the Science Technology and Society Unit of the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science of Graz University of Technology. The conference provides space for international scholars to discuss their topical research amongst peers. The contributors to this event address the complex ways in which science, technology and society co-evolve and mutually shape one another.

 

Beat the Best: AUSTRIAN CYBER SECURITY CHALLENGE
May 3^rd - September 30^th, 2021

The Austria Cyber Security Challenge is about "discovering" talented young people at an early stage and "challenging" and "promoting" them according to their skills and knowledge - in other words, analogous to our successes in skiing - finding the best at a very early stage and bringing them up to the top in a targeted manner.

Camera on the shoe? Friedrich Fraundorfer makes it possible (and relevant)!

Friedrich Fraundorfer and his team from the Institute for Computer Graphics and Knowledge Visualisation are working on an innovative assistance system for blind people. The focus is on a shoe from the company Tec-Innovation. In future, with the help of TU Graz, the shoe will be equipped with a camera and, thanks to the latest image processing methods, will be able to provide information about the type of obstacle.
