TU Graz SciPix: Research photo competition
until April 30th, 2021

A research photo competition that’s been organised by TU Graz to focus the spotlight on the diverse scientific work being conducted at the university. All TU Graz employees are invited to submit photo entries that show ongoing or already completed scientific work at TU Graz. Submit a photo until 30 April, 2021, for a chance to win 1,500 euros or a TU Graz Sunnybag.

 

STS Conference Graz 2021 - Critical lssues In Science, Technology and Society Studies
May 3rd - May 5th, 2021

The 19th Annual STS Conference Graz 2021 is the joint Annual Conference of the Science Technology and Society Unit of the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science of Graz University of Technology. The conference provides space for international scholars to discuss their topical research amongst peers. The contributors to this event address the complex ways in which science, technology and society co-evolve and mutually shape one another.

When you can't meet family and friends in person, you can turn to virtual alternatives and have a lot of fun together. Video games are, in a sense, immune to Corona measures and are booming more than ever. Our gaming specialist Johanna Pirker, from the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science, provides insights into the world of gamers.

 

Gernot Mueller Putz and his team draws attention to spinal cord injuries with his project Feel Your Reach

The objective of Feel Your Reach is to develop a novel control framework that incorporates goal directed movement intention, movement decoding, error processing, processing of sensory feedback to allow a more natural control of a neuroprosthesis. To achieve this goal, several scientists from the Institute of Neural Engineering, aim to realize a targeted movement decoder.

Artificial Intelligence Dependability Assessment - Student Challenge
Siemens Mobility aim to attract AI-learning students to contribute their knowledge and ideas to improving safety decisions in Mobility! Students are encouraged to develop an AI model for a simple classification problem with demanding safety requirements. A total of 10,000 EUR in prize money awaits the best and most reliable AI models. Deadline: May 02nd, 2021

VCLA International Student Awards 2021
The Vienna Center for Logic and Algorithms calls for the nomination of authors of outstanding theses and scientific works in the field of Logic and Computer Science. The degree must have been awarded between November 15th, 2019 and December 31st, 2020 (inclusive). Deadline: May 07th, 2021
