Artificial Intelligence Dependability Assessment - Student Challenge

Siemens Mobility aim to attract AI-learning students to contribute their knowledge and ideas to improving safety decisions in Mobility! Students are encouraged to develop an AI model for a simple classification problem with demanding safety requirements. A total of 10,000 EUR in prize money awaits the best and most reliable AI models.

 

REMAINING PLACES - Erasmus+ for the academic year 2021/22

There is the possibility to apply for remaining places for Erasmus+ student mobility in winter semester 2021/22 and summer semester 2022.

 

TU Graz SciPix: Research photo competition

A research photo competition that’s been organised by TU Graz to focus the spotlight on the diverse scientific work being conducted at the university. All TU Graz employees are invited to submit photo entries that show ongoing or already completed scientific work at TU Graz. Submit a photo until 30 April, 2021, for a chance to win 1,500 euros or a TU Graz Sunnybag.

Our peer advisor Mariella Steinkasserer helps you with questions about study-related topics. Therefore, there is a social meeting every week (every Thursday at 5 pm), where incoming students can meet, can ask questions or just chat a little.

 

Excellence MOOCs at TU Graz

As part of the digitalization projects of the Ministry, the MOOC platform "iMooX" at Graz University of Technology will be expanded to become a joint platform for all Austrian universities. So-called "Excellence MOOCs" are being produced at Graz University of Technology within the framework of Digital TU Graz Marketplace. These will represent the outstanding research at TU Graz in teaching. The content will be made accessible, visible, and usable worldwide in English. The resulting scaling of knowledge will strengthen research collaborations and research-led teaching on iMooX for you, for everyone.

 

E-Assessment at TU Graz

The already existing services for written online examinations (in TeachCenter or TeachCenter Exam) will temporarily be supplemented by another examination environment beginning with the summer semester 2021: the KnowledgeCheckR. The students are photographed during the exam, the AI-based system analyses these photos for abnormalities and automatically forwards them to the examiners. KnowledgeCheckR is directly connected to TC Exam, which is used for user management as usual.

Women's STEM Award 2021
For the eighth time, Deutsche Telekom praises the Women's STEM Award. STEM graduates from all over the world can submit their thesis with focus on one of the strategic growth areas: Cloud, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Networks of the Future. The best thesis will be awarded 3,000 euros. In addition, each innovative topic will be awarded 500 euros. Your bachelor or master thesis is (almost) completed? You studied a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)? Perfect. Apply until March 14, 2021 with your thesis and convince the jury!

Promotion Award 2021 of the Forum Technology and Society for dissertations and master theses
Briefly argue (3000 characters) why your dissertation or master thesis is or can be important for society. Send your arguments and convince the competent jury. Deadline: March 15, 2021

AK STMK funding for digitalization
Each project has the opportunity to receive up to 200,000 euros in funding. An external advisory board evaluates the submitted projects. Projects can be submitted at any time. Two funding rounds are planned for 2021. The focus this time is on the area of continuing education. Deadline: March 31, 2021

FFG: BRIDGE - 33. Call
Fundamental projects from scientific research and from the exploiting industry are funded. The funding for science in cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises is up to a maximum of 80%. The program is open to all research topics. Deadline: March 31, 2021

Doctoral Examinations

Info: Candidates can take the final examination (presentation and oral exam) online via video conference call (e.g. Webex) if all parties involved agree. The requirement of publicity can be ensured as follows: Candidates may distribute the meeting link; requests to participate in the video exam can also be sent by e-mail to the chairperson of the exam commission.
