Announcement Special Issue - Invitation to submit

It is our great pleasure to announce a Special Issue in Entropy dedicated to MaxEnt 2021!

This Special Issue invites contributions on all aspects of probabilistic inference, such as foundations, novel methods and novel applications. Traditionally welcomed are extended papers on contributions presented at the International Workshop on Bayesian Inference and Maximum Entropy Methods in Science and Engineering (MaxEnt 2021). In light of the special circumstances and challenges of this year’s edition, we also welcome submissions that could not be presented at the workshop. All submissions will be peer-reviewed before acceptance.

Submission Deadline: 20th December 2021.

For further information and author instructions, please see the Special Issue's dedicated homepage and references therein: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/entropy/special_issues/MaxEnt2021

Tech Tutorials for Virtual Venues

We are hosting tech tutorials for the virtual venues (Webex, Wonder.me) on June 28th, one tutorial at 9:00  (UTC+2) and one tutorial at 18:00 (UTC+2). The virtual venues can be accessed through the link "Browse Conference Agenda" in ConfTool.

For further information see manual here.

(Update 31st of May, 2021)

Update (27th of May, 2021)

MaxEnt 2021 will be held online from 4th-9th July!

A technical tutorial on how to use and navigate the virtual venues (Webex and wonder.me) will likely be given in the week of 20th June to 27th June. There will be two slots (morning and evening, central european time) to accomodate for different international time zones. The exact dates of this technical tutorial will be announced in due time.
We will offer live presentations and schedule the conference to account for the different time zones of the participants and speakers. We will additionally offer video recordings of the presentations and arrange additional discussion time slots to the participants in conflicting time zones.

Further details will be announced in due time.

MaxEnt 2021

As it has for 40 years, the workshop will focus on the applications of Bayesian inference and the maximum entropy principle in regard to problems faced in science and engineering.

The broadness of this topic is illustrated by presentations held in previous years which include fields such as astronomy and astrophysics, chemistry, communications theory, climate studies, earth studies, particle physics, plasma physics robotics and social sciences.

The conference invites contributions on all aspects of probabilistic inference, including novel techniques and applications and work that sheds new light on the foundations of inference.
