Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students are able to …

  • Identify and analyze the characteristics of commercial configurable digital systems, their evolution, and the principles of hardware/software communication.

  • Analyze major serial communication protocols and communication buses (both On-Chip and Off-Chip), identifying the most efficient implementation methods.
  • Apply design methods for hardware/software communication interfaces.
  • Design components capable of communicating with a microprocessor using standard communication protocols.
