ADVANCED ARCHITECTURAL SCIENCE

In this obligatory elective course the overall energy concept will be developed for the proposal of the Integral design studio. Special emphasis is placed on linking the architectural design and the energy concept. The aim will be to develop a low-energy hotel building. Simple methods, but also detailed simulations (based on the Grasshopper platform) are used for the calculation of the energy demand and the potential for energy generation.

The seminar provides a broad overview of energy systems of buildings and offers scope for the individual development of new and creative solutions for the energy transfer and energy generation in the close context of a strong architectural design idea.
