Four wheels in town often means two are superfluous

In his lecture Daan Zandbelt, the National Advisor for Mobility and Urbanization, will talk about his position and tasks on the subjects of bike mobility and intermodality in the Netherlands. He will show how recent Dutch bike culture came about, what the current features and latest developments in Dutch bike mobility and intermodality are, which challenges the Dutch are faced with and how they deal with them.

Daan Zandbelt is a partner at De Zwarte Hond and works as an urbanist and architect on complex urban projects that vary from regional strategies to precise urban spatial planning and architectural interventions. In 2016 he was appointed as National Advisor for Mobility and Urbanization in the Netherlands and in this position he advises the government on spatial and social issues. Until 2016 he also worked as an assistant professor at the Urbanism department at the Faculty of Architecture of the Delft University of Technology. His work is published in several books, magazines and websites.
