Type test

Type testing refers to the procedure by which the European Medical Devices Test Center verifies and certifies that a representative product type meets the applicable normative requirements. If the result of the type test is positive, the client will receive a type-test report and a type-test certificate for the fulfillment of the requirements of the selected standards. For the duration of the validity of the certificates, the client will be granted the permission to use the protected GS safety mark (tested safety) of the PMG in accordance with the regulations on the use of the mark.

The type-test certificate confirmes that the design of the product ensures compliance with the applicable normative requirements.

The basis for issuing certificates is the conclusion of a certification contract in which the reciprocal rights and obligations of certificate holders and PMG are specified.
