Since 2009 a new laboratory in the Inffeldgasse is available for model tests. The lab is a 2500 m² (25x100m) large, canopied hall, which is surrounded by three walls. The usable height below the crane is 4 meters. The water supply for the models is assured by 4 pumps that are speed frequency controlled. The maximum discharge is defined as 1000 l/s and the water is taken out of a sub-surface tank and pumped in 400 mm pipes to the models. The pipes are arranged circularily. After the drain outlet the water flows back to a de-sander and the tank via a channel.
