High Voltage Engineering: Principles and Practical Application

High voltage engineering is a key technology used to ensure the power supply and also plays a major role in many technical sectors such as industrial manufacturing or the automotive industry. In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of high voltage engineering as well as their applications in your work environment.

Content

This course provides you with basic knowledge about high voltage engineering and exemplary practical applications. You will receive an introduction to typical high voltage components and equipment that are used in medium and high voltage networks and their respective electrical insulation systems. By working through example problems, common difficulties encountered in the field will be solved. Practical laboratory experiments complement this theoretical introduction. Highlights of this course include:
  • Electrical fields
  • Insulation materials
  • Breakdown voltage
  • Generation and measurement of high voltages
  • High voltage components and equipment

Target Groups and Admission Requirements

The course has been designed for people who have graduated from a secondary technical school (HTL) or a technical degree programme at a university or college, and would like to add to or deepen their knowledge of high voltage engineering.
