We are happy to announce that we have a new employee in our CAT team: Richard Hohensinner :-)
Richard is currently doing his Master's studies in Software Engineering and Management. In our team, Richard is working on the CAT platform as a DevOps. One of his main projects is the implementation of electronic labnotebooks (eLabFTW). In this project, Richard enables CAT users to connects their documentation of lab research with the underlying iRODS-based research data management function of CAT. This means that the documentation is not isolated, but will be integrated with the datasets as well as the data analyses performed in CAT.
In case you are interested in using electronic labnotebooks as a Powered by CAT tool, please contact us.
On 30th of September, the official CyVerse Kickoff event took place. Due to the current COVID19 restrictions we held the meeting in a hybrid form. The representatives from the rectorates at TUG, MUG and KFUG, as well as the project team were present in a seminar room and the event was livestreamed.
We had presentations from Stefanie Lindstaedt from TUG about the vision of project, Alexander Mahnert from MUG about the user perspective, Herbert Stoeri from VSC about the future perspective of the project, Tony Ross-Hellauer from TUG about the synergies with other ongoing projects (FAIR Data Austria and RegioData) and Nirav Merchant from CyVerse US about the global vision.
Around 60 people were watching the CyVerse Kickoff event. We are very happy about the great interest in the platform!
