The 8th Graz BCI Conference 2019 (GBCIC2019) will host:
Pre-Conferece Workshops, Keynotes, Talkes, Posters, 2nd BCI Science Slam, Industrial Exhibition, Opening Cocktail, Gala Dinner and Researchers from all over the world from the BCI field!

The CYBATHLON BCI Series 2019 is connected with the 8th Graz Brain-Computer Interface Conference 2019.


Paper submission

Before you submit a paper, please make sure that all texts or figures of your paper are within the allowed area. Please check your paper at the following link (if the check is not working, do not mind and go on with the next steps):

For the actual submission, we use the paper management system "easychair" which requires an account. If you do not have one, you can create one for free. By submitting a paper you confirm that you checked your paper. Please follow the link below to submit a paper and/or to create an account:

Documents are allowed in .pdf format only and they must use either the Word or the LaTex template. Do not forget to indicate the topic(s) of your work.

Call for papers: Deadline February 20, 2019

We cordially invite you to submit papers in the area of brain-computer interfaces. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by an international review board. Accepted papers will be published in open access proceedings and receive a unique DOI. Submissions must use the Word or LaTeX template provided at the right hand panel of this website in section downloads. Please do not tinker with the template parameters such as line spacing, page borders, font sizes, and so on. Your submission can be up to six pages long. More detailed instructions on how to create a submission can be found on our website before paper submission opens (December 1st 2018). Please note that the submission deadline is February 20th, 2019. Papers submitted after this date will not be considered.

Call for satellite events: Deadline February 20, 2019

The 8th Graz Brain-Computer Interface Conference 2019 will feature workshops to stimulate in-depth scientific discussions on specific BCI topics of interest. Workshops can combine talks, discussion, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Workshops will cost a small additional fee for participants to cover coffee and rooms. Workshops will be held on Monday, September 16th 2019.

Please send your workshop proposal per mail to Your proposal should provide the following information:

  • The name of the workshop
  • The names/affiliations and contact information of the organizer(s)
  • A workshop abstract that includes a statement of the workshop’s goals (max 150 words)
  • Workshop timetable, number of expected participants, workshop format, etc.

Please note that the submission deadline is again February 20th 2019. Workshop proposals submitted after this date will not be considered.

Registration Information

Online registration is open until September 4, and is handled via the eventbrite website (will be available soon). We offer the option to pay via credit card (Master/Vista/AmericanEx) or direct bank transfer. You receive a payment confirmation afterwards via the Eventbrite system. Early bird registration is open until May 31. Afterwards, higher fees will apply. BCI society memberships will be checked. Participants who registered themselves as (PhD) students to get the discount, needs to show a valid student confirmation at the registration desk at the conference to receive their badge.

Talks given during the conference will not be filmed or a seperate request will be made by the organizer.
