Synthesis of New and Better Materials

One of our key competences is the synthesis of ceramics (sulfides, oxides, phosphates, fluorides) by using solid-state sintering, sol-gel approaches, hydrothermal synthesis, precipitation of solutions, and flux growth techniques. As an example to synthesize and study the properties of Li-oxide garnets, NASICON based materials, antiperovskites etc. Currently we work on a new class of fluoride-based ceramic with the potential to realize future batter technologies by combining high Li-ion conductivity and electrochemical stability exciding the state-of-the-art solid electrolytes. The main goal of my research on the synthesis and improvement of ceramics is their implementation into devices.
