Markus Hofinger

 

Markus Hofinger joined the VLO Group in June 2017 as a PhD student supervised by Prof. Thomas Pock. His research interests are computer vision problems such as Optical Flow estimation and its applications, as well as machine learning and deep learning in general. He worked together with industry partners such as HS-Art digital service GmbH  working on video colorization, Mapillary GmbH working on computer vision research related to optical flow, or the Rubner Group working on deformation analysis in wood. Before working in computer vision research, he was working in the field of microelectronics development for several years. He received his DI(FH) in 2009 from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, as well as an additional master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the Graz University of Technology (2015), whilst working in the microelectronics industry.
