LIVING FOREST

"Our design goals are on the one hand maximum forest performance and optimal use of landscape, and on the other hand  high density. In order to reach the first goal, we decided to lift our building up entirely.  Forest and landscape can flow through the space underneath the building freely. The position of the building reacts to the existing trees . The roofs are partly used as acreage but mainly for electricity production and water collection. In order to reach high living density we chose a long and narrow building typology, with efficient floor plans."

LIVING FOREST

"The architecture of The Living Forest aims to erase the separation of nature and urbanism. By fusing vegetative systems with the civil concepts of living and working, a new dimension of urbanism is entered."

VIRIDARIA

"Our top sellers are the pumpkin soup, the bean pancakes and of course the sweet Cocadas, which are also our favorite. But what makes the guests smile the most is picking their own fruits in our hanging desert garden."

PARADISE WALK

"This project fuses architecture and environment to inquire on built space beyond the separation of both realms. The unifying thread to this exploration is the observation of connectivity between both mayor ecosystems located on site. Between the forest ecotype and the marine ecotype exists a strong bondage that becomes the narrative thread turned into an explorative path system. This way a narrating pathway is created, where different environmental sensations, ecosystem performances and functional needs all merge in space."

IN THE NATURE

"The purpose of the project is to create a neighborhood with a good and working community. The concept is to create a connection between living space, green space and the common cultivation farming. The community is created by individual living, which is characterized by its openness."

HOMBORI: A LIFE WALL

"Water runoff from the mountains drains the crops in the infield and naturally establishes three major corridors, known as erosion pathways, as essential passages to support different parts of the community. Several water checkdams installed between the edges of the hill will catch the heavy rain"
