Methods of hydrogen production and purification from renewable energy carriers

Current research activities aim at the investigation into advanced chemical looping processes for the conversion of biogas to hydrogen. The focus is put on the development of metal-oxide based oxygen carrier species for zero-emission hydrogen production. Synthesis, characterisation and testing of the oxygen carrier materials provide the foundation for studies into the thermodynamic and kinetic properties, ecologic and economic considerations and application.
