In the FFG-funded project VR4CPPS, we research novel Virtual Reality applications for industrial tasks. Our proposed techniques include industrial training applications, immersive analysis of large data sets, and distributed VR-based interaction techniques.

Visualizing Large Temporal Networks

We develop insightful visualization techniques for attributed network data such as ancestral graphs. Time is shown as a height field, enabling an intuitive understanding of the temporal attributes of the graph.

CrossSave

CrossSave

In the project CrossSave, we research novel approaches for searching, comparing and analysing digital cultural heritage objects across different modalities. The project is a collaboration between TU Graz CGV, University of Graz Institute of Classics, and University of Chile PRISMA group, and is co-funded by the FWF and the State of Styria.
 

With a modern smartphone, everyone now has a high resolution digital camera attached to a high performance parallel computer in their pocket. On the one hand, the constantly increasing amount of visual information demands faster and better algorithms, while on the other hand it also opens the space for new exciting applications. At our department, we host several internationally renowned research groups working in visual computing. Our research areas include computer vision, visual analytics, computer graphics, augmented reality and human-computer interaction. Our scientific excellence is reflected in a growing number of international and national research projects (ERC grant, Christian Doppler laboratories), in top-tier publications and close cooperations with our industrial partners.
