Tenure Track Professor in Medical Imaging
We are looking for a candidate with proven scientific expertise who will represent the field of “Medical Imaging” in research and teaching, applications from any subfield are welcome.
Job Description
The following areas are of particular interest:
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- MR Systems Engineering
- Quantitative MRI
The professorship will cover one of these fields or any other field in medical imaging that complements the existing strengths in the department.
The professorship will be part of the Institute of Biomedical Imaging, which is an internationally visible research environment with more than 12 researchers in the field of biomedical imaging. The institute collaborates closely with research groups and industry partners around the globe. The Institute of Biomedical imaging has a research focus on the development of computational imaging techniques for MRI and operates a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla MRI scanner, an electronics laboratory, and a wide-band nuclear quadrupole resonance spectrometer.
The successful candidate will complement the existing strengths in the department, will build an internationally visible group, will be an engaged teacher in the Biomedical Engineering program at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD level, and will actively participate in academic self-administration.
At the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering undergraduate courses are taught in German or English, graduate courses are taught in English.
The advertised position is a tenure-track career position. (pursuant to § 99 para. 5 of the Universities Act) After the conclusion of a qualification agreement, the job holder is appointed as an Assistant Professor. After a positive evaluation of the qualification agreement, the position will be turned into a position as Associate Professor.
