Project Researcher in Data Stewardship (Post or Prae Doc)

Full time (40h/week).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordination and management of projects supporting research data management
  • Manage and develop a network of researchers in Engineering and related subjects at TU Graz, working with them to create discipline-specific services, workflows and research data management practices
  • Community management and advocacy of open science practices (e.g. FAIR data)
  • Drive discussions/guidance on needs and best practices for research data management by organizing workshops, training and other events
  • Support state-of-the-art research projects in Engineering and related subjects by providing innovative research data management tools and services
  • Communication and dissemination of outputs
  • Create scientific publications which contribute to the theory and development of data stewardship and data management planning, and raise the profile of the TU Graz in these areas

Required skills and experience

  • Completed academic studies (masters or diploma) in Civil Engineering Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or a related subject
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, able to speak not only with researchers, but also with other support staff
  • Very good written and spoken English and German language skills

Desirable skills and experience

  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or a related subject
  • Experience with Open Science
  • Experience with software and languages for data extraction and analysis (e.g., Python, R)
  • Record of impactful scientific publications in line with career-stage

Classification

Job Grading in Accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement: B1, 2 (Postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade. The gross salary for this position amounts to a minimum of € 3889,50/month, 14x per year. B1 Grundstufe (Praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade. The gross salary for this position amounts to a minimum of € 2929,00/month, 14x per year).
