Three core projects are at the centre of the administration field of action: Digital Blueprint, Austrian University Toolkit and Digital University Hub. TU Graz is working on these together with the University of Vienna and the University of Graz until the end of 2024. These projects are financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. The aim is to develop and establish a cooperation model between Austrian universities in the area of digitalisation.
The digital university hub (DUH) is an inter-university service and cooperation platform that has been developed to guide Austria's universities into a digital future. DUH offers freely available tools, methods, and open-source software solutions that can be used to support digital transformation processes and change management at universities. The platform creates a space to make inter-university initiatives visible, thus triggering impulses that encourage innovation. Under the motto "Change connects", interested university employees can now join the DUH network and become part of a diverse inter-university knowledge community.
The Austrian University Toolkit makes modular building blocks that have free licences available to support and simplify typical university processes. In this project, for example, TU Graz is developing digital solutions for electronic files, application management and customer care (customer relationship management). The kit can be successively expanded by adding tools from all participating universities and represents a sustainable model for future digital collaboration.
The "Digital Blueprint" project creates a technological foundation that is available to Austria's universities with free licences and provides them with sustainable support that can guide them toward a digital future. Basic software components are being developed in the areas of e-government, identity management, digital signatures, and mobile user interfaces by implementing the latest technologies. In addition, innovative offers available from the "Digital Office" from österreich.gv.at are being integrated; thus, these are being made available at universities for the first time.
