TU Graz/ Studying and Teaching/

Higher Education Didactics

To ensure a high standard of teaching quality, TU Graz laces great value on the training of its teaching staff.

On the one hand, there are in-house training programmes which are specially suited to meeting the needs of our teaching staff and which also prepare teaching in English. On the other hand, there is a inter-university cooperation project in eDidactics which provides specific training in the use of media in teaching.

In order to honour excellence in teaching, the university management at TU Graz awards the Prize for Teaching Excellence every two years. The prize is given to three teachers who encourage students to develop their potential in the best possible way. Furthermore, the prize winners are, if possible, nominated for the Austrian State Prize for excellent teaching at Austria’s public universities - the Ars docendi. TU Graz particularly believes in the importance of supporting young teachers. Choosing from this group, up to three prize winners are chosen additionally and presented with the Prize for Teaching Excellence.
