Information Security Scholarship

As an international leader in the field of information security, TU Graz is placing a focus on the training of information security experts. Three master's degree programmes offered in the English language allow students to specialise in information security.

Talent promotion in Information Security

The Cybersecurity Campus Graz is awarding scholarships for talented and motivated international students starting their studies at TU Graz in winter semester 2020/21.

The scholarships are intended for students with a major in information security within the english-language master’s degree programmes in Computer Science, Information and Computer Engineering or Software Engineering and Management.

Application for the scholarship 2020 to 2022

Scholarship applicants can receive the following benefits:

Financial assistance of 4,000 Euro per academic year – up to two academic years
(for the extension after the first year of the master's programme, proof of academic performance is required)

Application deadline: 15 January 2020
Confirmation of approval: by 15 March 2020

Step 1: Admission to the master’s degree programme

Acceptance to one of the following english-language master’s degree programmes is a condition for being awarded a scholarship:

Online registration between 15 October and 15 December 2019

Confirmation of approval by 1 March 2020

Step 2: Application for the scholarship

Application requirements for the scholarship

  • International student
  • Excellent academic performance in previous studies
  • Commitment, communication skills, interest, creativity and self-responsibility thinking

Application process

The following application documents must be submitted in English as pdf files:

  • Personal statement in form of an essay
  • Two letters of recommendation from the student’s teachers during his or her studies
  • Copy of passport

Step 3: Selection criteria and procedures

After the end of the application deadline a panel will select applicants for the scholarships based on the application documents submitted. Special importance is attached to the field of interest and personal motivation in the personal statement. In addition to excellent qualification, important criteria are good general knowledge, interest, open-mindedness, strong communication skills, creativity and self-responsibility thinking.

Applicants will be informed whether they have been nominated for the scholarship by 15 March 2020.
