2023: New Worlds in Production

When we talk about new worlds and visions for the future, one aspect should not be forgotten: climate neutrality. There is an especially enormous potential for achieving the climate goals in the field of production, whether we are talking about new materials that make products lighter, more climate-friendly, and more easily recyclable or about new and significantly more efficient methods for producing energy and resources. Digital workflows also offer great opportunities to optimise production and use resources even more frugally.

At the third science day TU Graz – Science for Future, you will learn more about the future-oriented projects that scientists at TU Graz are working on, have the chance to exchange ideas and network with them, and brainstorm and develop “brave new worlds” of production together.

New Worlds in Production

  • Date: 27 September 2023
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Location: TU Graz, Campus Alte Technik, Rechbauerstraße 12, 8010 Graz
  • Languages: Morning German, Afternoon mixed English or German
  • Registration required for participation in presence (not for the livestream)
  • Participation is free of charge

The Science Day will take place on-site at TU Graz. The morning programme will also be broadcast via livestream.

When I enter a factory in a year's time, what will I see? And in ten years? In 20? In 100? These are questions that we, as members of the scientific community, have been asking ourselves for some time, because the field of production is undergoing an exciting time of change that will bring enormous opportunities. Opportunities in terms of environmental sustainability and the circular economy, production that is geared towards creating durable, customised goods and production that considers how products can be recycled from their first conception.

We can only take these paths that lead us to the new worlds of production together – by learning from each other, exchanging ideas, and asking searching questions about what science, business, and society can contribute to the process.
