Model tests

All in all about 350 model tests have been performed at the institute. A few examples show the broad scope of topics and solved problems. The tests cover questions at dams and operating equipment, river morphology and sediment transport, flow to inlets and dynamic loads of gates, surge chambers and pipes, bifurcators and stilling basins besides many other problems.

In collaboration with the company I AM HYDRO and the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems (IWS) of the university of Stuttgart a baro chamber for simulating the pressure gradients during a turbine passage was devloped. Further informationyou can find here.
