Energy materials & Nanomaterials
Nanocrystalline materials are polycrystals with a crystallite size in the range of several nanometers. Since the properties of these materials may differ substantially from those of their coarse-grained counterparts due to the high number of interfaces and surfaces, the study of nanocrystalline materials have recently gained rising interest. At the Institute of Materials Physics at Graz University of Technology nanocrystalline materials with their high innovation potential in nanotechnology are primarily prepared by cluster routes and studied with respect to functional behaviour such as materials transport or tunable properties.
