As part of the research collaboration with AVL List GmbH in the field of powertrain development, the Transmission Center (Phase I) was officially opened in 2017. Here, fundamental research in the fields of tribology, transmission technology, and powertrain development is conducted on a test area of approximately 750 m². For this purpose, corresponding test benches have been installed to cover the following areas:

  • Testing of electric drive axles
  • Swivel bearing investigations
  • Friction analysis
  • Functional tests
  • Radioisotope concentration test
  • Special investigations

The institute utilizes its own facilities and test bench technology from AVL List GmbH, which enables the execution of demanding research projects while simultaneously providing students with an advanced environment for conducting scientific research.
