Attending the BRG Petersgasse with focus on descriptive geometry, Benedikt Weger laid the foundation for his scientific career. He took his first steps in teaching as student assistant during his bachelor‘s programme, leading tutorial groups and participating in examination matters.
After finishing his master‘s programme, he started his position as university assistant at the Institute of Strength of Materials. His lectures focus on the theory and implementation of the finite element method and its application in continuum mechanics. The main topic of his research is a continuum mechanical description of defects in crystalline solids
