Responsibilities
We are seeking a university assistant for our team:
- You perform self-driven research to combine numerical methods and materials modeling in solid mechanics with machine learning applied to numerical homogenization. You are responsible for presenting your results at international conferences and to publish them in international research journals. At later stages you shall be involved in writing research proposals and collaborating in industrial projects.
- Besides your research you will be involved in teaching lab courses and in supervising the tutorials on mechanics of materials for undergraduates. We also expect you to contribute to the development of an online teaching tool in undergraduate mechanics.
Profile
Admission Requirements
- Masters degree in engineering sciences or (applied) mathematics
- Good command of German
Desired Qualification
- We expect you to enjoy sharing your knowledge and that you are eager to break new ground and develop innovative solutions.
- It is crucial that you have in-depth knowledge of solid mechanics and mechanics of materials. Ideally you are educated in numerical methods of solid mechanics and have some programming experience.
- First experience in teaching, e.g. as student assistant, are beneficial.
- Your involvement in teaching requires very good command of German and good command of English is required for performing and publishing you research.
