Biomedical Devices, Sensors and Signal Processing

This working field deals with the development, construction and evaluation of biomedical devices and sensor technologies. The conception and application of new methods and tools for data analysis and signal processing and interpretation complement this area.

Health Care Engineering

The working area deals with planning, implementation, operation and quality management of health care by health care institutions (e.g. hospitals, ambulatories), mobile services (e.g. rescue, home care) and telemedical methods (e.g. patient monitoring) as well as clinical engineering including the development of devices and methods aiming at curing patients or abating their illness efficiently, economically, without avoidable risks and quality-assured.
